Punta Cana Excursions & Tours
Our excursions are centered around the National Park del Este and its direct surroundings.
What Punta Cana Excursions are available?
Our Punta Cana excursions are available for guests of all hotels in Punta Cana and Bavaro. A boat trip to Saona island is the most popular excursion from Punta Cana. Saona Island is part of the National Park del Este. This park is situated south of Punta Cana, near Bayahibe along the Caribbean Sea. Check below what Saona Island Excursions we recommend, the full list of available excursions can be seen at the tab "Saona Island Excursions" in the menu above. The point of departure for these tours is the port of Bayahibe, the most southern point of the greater Punta Cana area.
But Punta Cana has more to offer then only beach and sea. SeavisTours is also specialized in real jungle and rainforest tours. We own several properties on the bank of the Rio Chavon and these are converted to first class tourist facilities, without losing the authenticity. Check our Jungle Eco Tour, which visits the National Park and check the excursions around the River Chavon, you will be amazed what is available.
What tours would we pick ourselves?
In short: the Saona Crusoe VIP is a 'must' for everybody, its the top excursion in the entire country. And for the more active persons we would add the Jungle Eco Tour; the less active: have a look at Tanama River Day. One sea and one land excursion, so you cover the full spectrum (and you will escape the resort for two days).
How are the transfers for the Punta Cana Excursions organized?
A tour to Saona island or to the National Park Del Este involves a taxi transfer of +- 55 minutes to Bayahibe. We organize the transfers in 10 person minibuses. This means that we avoid the long resort to resort transport to collect all the guests. Our taxis are fully licensed and insured. The transfer to Bayahibe for the Punta Cana Excursions is offered against an additional fee of $25pp, unless mentioned otherwise. The Saona Crusoe VIP comes to $110pp, this includes the round trip transfer. The Nature Complete Tour is $120pp including the transfers. For some excursions the transfers are included in the tour price. Please look at the price list for the other excursions. The payment is in cash (us$, Euro, Pesos) on arrival in Bayahibe, we don't require a deposit.
What happens if I have to cancel the tour?
If you for some reason have to cancel the tour, you will not loose any money. Bear in mind that if you don't show up in the morning, it will cost us money for the taxi we send to your hotel and for the food packed on the boats. And we can't fill the seats anymore.... Please, let us know asap when you can't join.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes, you can. We offer private boat charters for groups from Punta Cana. Obviously anything is possible, but especially for groups we have developed a tour that combines the main attractions of the National Park and has something for everybody. Have a look at our Saona Special: boating, snorkeling, beach time, shopping and fun combined.........

The Saona Crusoe VIP has been voted the best Saona Island excursion in 2011 and 2012 by the readers of Tripadvisor.com. Take a look at the Saona Crusoe VIP page.
Nature Complete Tour:
The Catalina, Chavon & Tanama tour is a full day excursion to the island Catalina and to our Tanama Jungle Ranch along the Rio Chavon. The excursion combines the sea and the jungle, nature and culture, and poor and rich. This is a perfect tour for when you want a lot of variation and diversity in your outing. This all-encompassing tour is ideal for children and offers great value as a family excursion (not a 'booze cruise'). Click here to see what it is all about...
Tanama Wonders of Nature Tour:
When you visit Punta Cana or Bayahibe, or your cruise ship docks at La Romana you don't want to miss this... On the banks of the Rio Chavon lies a tropical jungle paradise: the Tanama Jungle Ranch..... a paradise in the wilderness, where visitors come face to face with some of nature's most beautiful butterflies, hummingbirds, live tarantulas, boa constrictors, iguanas and other hot-weather-happy inhabitants... This is a half day tour to explore the Dominican Rainforest and its inhabitants...
Tanama River Day:
The Tanama River Day is a full day on, in and around the river Chavon. The Wonders of Nature Tour, with the fabulous river cruise, is included and we have a great guided tour along the attractions on the river bank property. We'll visit the local community of Santa Cruz de Gato, where we experience the traditional Dominican lifestyle. We'll lunch at the famous jungle restaurant of 'El Indio'. We'll visit Yuca Yena, the small jungle farm on the banks of the river, with a fruit trail and a canoe adventure... and for the less active: you can relax in the jacuzzi with marvelous river views ... nature, culture and fun combined ....
Jungle Eco Tour:
This excursion is for our guests in Punta Cana and Bavaro. The National Park del Este near Bayahibe is well known for the Islands of Saona and Catalina, but the park itself is virtually un-explored. This excursion includes an easy hike through the jungle and a river cruise through the gorge of the river Chavon. Very special is the swim in the lake inside a deep cave.....
Punta Cana Whale Watching:
Between January 15 and mid April the bay of Samana is visited by thousands of Humpback Whales to breed and give birth. Our excursion takes you close to these magnificent mammals. We have an expert guide and the whole trip is well balanced. This excursion leaves from our whale center in Miches, only 90 taxi minutes from Punta Cana. On the way to Miches we'll cross some spectacular mountain ranges and on the way back you have the opportunity for some (rural) shopping outside the tourist areas...
